Scholarship

  • The Theta Chapter recognizes that we are at the University of Illinois to learn and graduate.  It is expected that each sister will try her hardest to reach her academic potential.

Sigma Kappa tries its hardest to help all of our sisters achieve this.  Every sister is assigned a study buddy in her major and many girls often call on these buddies for help and advice.  Many girls also take classes together so that they can call on them for help.

Our Vice President of Scholarship is always coming up with new ideas to help sisters reach their goals.  Each month, there is a "Sig Cafe" where sisters meet at a local coffee shop to study together.  Sisters can also be nominated for prizes by their fellow sisters each week.  Our final scholarship program is Sigma Kappa baseball!  The chapter is divided into teams, each with an executive board member as a "Coach".  When sisters do well on an exam, quiz, paper, or even a simple homework assignment they can score points for their team.  The contest goes all semester and the winning team receives a prize.

We believe that scholarship can be fun! Our Spring 2009 GPA was 3.3914.
